We believe that being on vacation is a poor excuse to deprive yourself of homemade food. In fact, we’d bet that our homemade food is even better than what you’d eat at home! While other all-inclusive resorts sometimes skimp on food quality, relying on frozen ingredients and items made off-site, the chefs of Coconut Bay are fanatical about freshness. Get ready for a mouth-watering read as we describe the assortment of homemade food selections available at Coconut Bay.
Fresh-Baked Breads and Pastries
When it comes to baked goods, our guests get deliciously spoiled by Executive Chef Veejoruth Purmessur, or “Chef P.” Chef P realized his passion for cooking as a part-time bakery worker in India, after which he trained as a pastry chef. He has since moved up the culinary ladder, but his lasting affection for breads and pastries is evident from Coconut Bay’s delectable homemade baked goods.
Fresh-baked breads include cheese bread, parmesan breadsticks, white and wheat bread, raisin bread, and more. Specialty breads include hot coconut rolls at Calabash, our Caribbean restaurant, and buttery garlic rolls at Capri, our Italian restaurant. Our dizzying selection of flaky, homemade pastries includes chocolate croissants, gooey cinnamon buns, coconut cream Danish, and pineapple pinwheel Danish, to name a few.
Sauces for Every Cuisine
Chef P and his team know that sauces can make or break a meal. Sauces transform an otherwise ordinary meal into an unforgettable experience. We offer dozens of homemade sauces that perfectly complement our dishes. Sauces at Coconut Walk include peppercorn beef, Papaya chicken, red wine lamb, and mandarin salmon. At Silk, our Asian restaurant, homemade sauces include sweet and sour pork sauce, teriyaki beef sauce, and miso salmon sauce. At Capri, you’ll enjoy sauces like fresh tomato sauce, vodka ravioli sauce, and white wine sauce.
Appease Your Sweet Tooth
You can’t stay at a resort with a world-renowned pastry chef without experiencing Chef P’s passion for desserts firsthand. Our irresistible homemade desserts at Coconut Walk include death by chocolate cake, fresh-baked chocolate chip cookies, chocolate mousse, and banana flambé. Capri offers Italian dessert favorites like tiramisu, and you also won’t want to miss Silk’s homemade banana cream rolls and coconut ice cream cocktails.
Unless you live in a bakery, you’ll probably get more homemade goodies at Coconut Bay than you’ve ever had at home. Come hungry and don’t forget to pack pants with an elastic waistband!
