Beginners Welcome
Don’t worry if you’ve never kitesurfed before joining us at Coconut Bay. That’s what our world-class instructors are here for! In fact, every single guest over the age of eight at the resort gets a free kitesurfing “taster” on our private beach, which includes flying a trainer kite on the beach – included as part of Coconut Bay’s Premium All-Inclusive package.
During your taster lesson, you’ll get to fly a trainer kite on the beach while supervised by our experienced coaching staff. If you’re over the age of 16, you’ll have the option of taking kitesurfing lessons with one of our certified instructors.
One of the biggest names in wind-sports, Bruce Johnston, had high praise for our water-sports complex, especially as it relates to beginners: “The easy launch from the water-sports facility is accessible to all skill levels, as is the riding inside the reef area. More adventuresome kiters can go out through the reef into the beautiful, rolling Atlantic swell for some truly memorable riding right off the resort property.” Bruce is the president of Silent Sports Marine Ltd., one of the largest wind-sports retailers in North America.
Make a Vacation Out of It
If you really want to dive right into kitesurfing, book one of our Surf and Stay packages. You’ll enjoy all of our standard all-inclusive amenities in addition to hours of kitesurfing lessons over the length of your stay. The packages will also include rental equipment for your lessons and practice. Available packages and rates vary, so give us a call for more details. Kitesurfing season runs from November 1 through June 1st, with Saint Lucian winds reaching between 15 and 25 knots during the season.
