You looked forward to your vacation all year, and then the time finally came. You packed the most you could into each day you spent with us, from relaxing on Coconut Bay’s private beach to seeing Saint Lucia’s top sights. You loved every second of your time here, but those seconds ticked away all too quickly.
All good things must come to an end, and now you’re back home battling post-vacay blues. You left sun, fun, and non-stop relaxation to go back to the daily grind, so of course, you’re feeling a little down. But you’re not alone! Here’s how a few of our Facebook friends and favorite guests coped with their post-vacation slumps.
#1 Answer: Book Again!
What better way to shake the post-vacay blahs than booking your next trip?! While returning from the vacation of a lifetime is always bittersweet, booking your next one will energize you with anticipation again. But you don’t have to take our word for it—the number-one answer we got from our Facebook friends to the question “How do you cope with post-vacation blues” was a resounding “Book again!” Viv Preston advised to “Book a return ASAP!” and Jamie Waller agreed, “By booking to come back! Which we just have! Roll on the 13th of August!”
Our guests’ advice is especially wise, as Coconut Bay is running all sorts of specials if you book now. Whether you want to travel in the winter, spring, or summer of this year, we have hot rates on garden-view and concierge rooms in our Splash and Harmony accommodations.
Make the Feeling Last
So what else can you do when you’re nostalgic for your too-short vacation? Ken Bain joked that his travel companion, Heather Brooks, “is still wrapped up rocking back and forth crying” from the jarring reentry to everyday life.
Why not take a page from JoAnn Bragg-Marrero’s book and stay in vacation mode while you transition?! Joann wrote this on our page, “Got home two days ago…still coping. Kept my braids to keep vacation mode going.” Whether you keep your beach braids, print and frame your favorite vacation photos, or try out the tropical drink recipes, you learned while here, you can keep the vacation magic alive if you’re creative.
It’s never easy to walk away from a tropical paradise and return to bad weather, chores, and the daily grind. But these fun tips from our guests and friends will keep you going until we see you next time!
