A common misconception about the Caribbean is that it’s not family friendly. In reality, especially in Saint Lucia, families can find lots of activities that will delight kids and adults alike. But you don’t have to take our word for it—we asked our Facebook friends to weigh in on the subject. Here are the top 10 suggestions they had for families traveling to Saint Lucia.
Zip Line Tour
Sheila Herringshaw Legere was one of dozens of Facebookers who recommended a zip line tour of our island’s lush rain forest. There are two zip line tours on the island, but the best one for families is the Piton hotwire zip tour. You and the kids can take pictures as you’re whizzing past our tropical flora and fauna.
Mud Baths
Alison Rancourt and her family had fun getting a little dirty in our mud baths in the Soufriere drive-in volcano. What kid wouldn’t mind an excuse to play in the mud? Bonus for grownups — you just might find that a mud bath is as rejuvenating as any spa treatment!
Lazy River
When you stay with us, you’ll get to experience the island’s largest water park. The highlight, according to Aly Levett, was the lazy river where you and the fam can just be, well, lazy!
Sunset Catamaran Cruise
We offer group catamaran cruises at sunset that will take your family around the island in style. You’ll see many of Saint Lucia’s beautiful landmarks from the ocean.
The Pitons
Facebook agrees — no Saint Lucia vacation would be complete without visiting our majestic twin volcanic peaks, the Pitons. If you all are up for it, you can also do a hiking tour of the Pitons.
Our Beach
Cheryl Burton recommends reclining in some chairs on our one-mile, white-sand beach, “watching the water and enjoying the sun.” We couldn’t have said it better ourselves, Cheryl.
Shopping
We bring the shopping to you with local vendors selling souvenirs twice a week during our themed dinners on resort property.
Fish Fries and Coconut Water
Typically, restaurants around the island will host fish fries on Friday evenings. Don’t forget to wash it down with some fresh coconut water or Caribbean rum for you parents.
Horseback Riding
Our families can’t say enough about our horseback riding adventure from Coconut Bay Beach. Even if you’re all beginning riders, we’ve got you covered.
Segway Safari
Jacquie Scharschmidt recommends our Segway tour, which we offer to our guests age 13 and older. Explore our 85 acres with a knowledgeable guide!
We want to thank all of our loyal Facebook fans for sounding off on our page with these questions. We hope you and your family have the same incredible Saint Lucian experience that all of them did!
