November 1, 2015 wasn’t just another beautiful 80-degree day here on the shores of Saint Lucia. It was the day Ms. Natasha Gibson and Mr. Matthew Holmes joined hands to start their forever journey together as Mr. and Mrs. Holmes. Their joyful ceremony that day on Coconut Bay’s Eternity Beach will stay in their hearts for as long as they both shall live.
The Ultimate Christmas Gift
Matthew—or “Matty,” as Natasha affectionately calls her new hubby—decided to give his then-girlfriend the Christmas gift of a lifetime about a year before their wedding. The family, hailing from Southampton, England, was joined together, enjoying the holiday season at Matty’s nan’s house. Matty finally worked up the courage to ask Natasha to be his wife. He presented her with a dazzling engagement ring, and—to his enormous relief—Natasha agreed to take his hand in marriage. We’re pretty sure Matty and Natasha will have many more amazing Christmases together, but Matty definitely outdid himself that magical season.
The Journey to Eternity Beach
Shortly after their engagement, the couple began brainstorming about where and how to get married. They did some research on the best honeymoon destinations around the globe and saw Saint Lucia appear again and again. They thought that if that’s where they’re headed for the honeymoon, why not just get married there as well? The tour operator, Thomas Cook, suggested Coconut Bay as their wedding site and honeymoon destination. As soon as they checked out our website, the couple was sold. Eternity Beach, here they come!
Pretty in Pink (and White)
Natasha had always dreamed of a sunset wedding with a pale pink theme, and that’s exactly what her wedding coordinator, Barbara, made happen. To give their ceremony that Matty-and-Natasha personal touch, the couple chose their own wedding music and brought their most beloved family members from back home. And, of course, lots of wonderful gifts!
And Now for the Part All the Ladies Have Been Waiting for…the Dress
And now we’ll get to the really good stuff—what Natasha wore and how the food was. Natasha took Matty’s breath away when she walked down the aisle in a white, backless wedding dress, complete with a long train straight out of a fairytale, with lace and sparkles at the top. In keeping with the casually Caribbean theme, Natasha accessorized her wedding dress with pretty diamond and pearl flip flops and her grandmother’s earrings—her “something old.” Matty was especially happy with the bride’s “something new”—lingerie from Victoria’s Secret.
For their wedding reception, the couple chose a meal at our intimate La Luna restaurant. The couple calls their dining experience that night “the best meal” they’ve ever had. And as for the cake we made for the happy couple? In Natasha’s words, it was “amazing.”
The newlyweds couldn’t say enough good things about the staff who put their wedding together. The couple was so impressed with how polite, helpful, and happy their wedding team was. Their
wedding planner, Barba, was a godsend, and they also couldn’t have done it without our brilliant photographer Kendall. We think it’s safe to say the couple was satisfied—in rating their wedding experience with us here at Coconut Bay, they said, “Everything was 100% perfect.”
With so much wonderful packed into one day, it was hard for either Mr. or Mrs. Holmes to pick a favorite part, but we love Mrs. Holmes’ answer to the question “what was the best part of your Coconut Bay wedding?” The bride wrote, “Becoming Mrs. Holmes.” Awww! It doesn’t get more adorable than that. We wish Natasha and Matty all the love and luck in the world as they venture forth as husband and wife.
