Coconut Bay Beach Resort & Spa is the perfect getaway for families this October half term, with guaranteed Caribbean sunshine, easy access from the moment of landing, located just five minutes from Hewanorra International Airport, and a range of experiences to suit all ages. Perfectly aligned with the UK school holiday calendar, Coconut Bay reopens on 17th October, following its annual September renovation.
Resort Offerings:
Spread across 85 oceanfront acres and a mile-long beach, our family-focused Splash wing offers plenty of space for children to play and explore, while still being safe and easy for parents to navigate. At the heart of the resort is Saint Lucia’s largest waterpark, with shallow splash zones and slides designed for younger children, alongside the Lazy River, which was refreshed in September 2025, now surrounded by lush new landscaping that provides shade for guests as they float along with a drink in hand. Alongside this, the Coconut Coaster waterslide offers twists and turns before a drop into the plunge pool, whilst young kids are also involved with a water playground featuring spilling buckets, fountains and water cannons.
Our impressive 50,000 sq ft CocoLand Kidz Klub welcomes children aged 3-12, with programs thoughtfully grouped by age so every child feels engaged and included. From crafts for toddlers to outdoor games and water sports for older kids, every activity is fully supervised, giving parents the chance to unwind at the tranquil spa or sneak away for a peaceful lunch for two. The Kidz Club is open seven days a week 9am – 5pm, with nighttime activities five days a week. Favourites include hayrides, tie-dying, outdoor cinemas, and the silent headphone party. Staff are also all trained and certified in supporting neurodiverse children, with enhanced communication and interaction skills designed to create a welcoming environment where every child can feel comfortable. For families travelling with teenagers, we have it covered. The Coconutz Teen Lounge gives older children a space to socialise and enjoy a sense of independence, open daily from 10am–11pm (and 10am–6pm on Thursdays and Saturdays).
Daily activities include tennis, pickleball, basketball and paintball (complimentary for Splash Concierge Premium guests) plus pool volleyball, kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding, kitesurfing and wing foiling. Water sports lessons and equipment are available at the Surf Shack.
Experiences:
For families seeking adventure, you can explore beyond the resort with excursions ranging from horseback rides to thrilling ATV rides through rivers, plantations, valleys, and even over and under the dramatic “Devils Bridge,” ending near a striking black sand beach. Even the resort’s scheduled events are designed with families in mind. A standout weekly highlight is the Lazy River Duck Race, held every Wednesday at 4pm. You can purchase ducks from the front desk, with proceeds supporting local schools, Saint Jude Hospital, and other Saint Lucian charities through Coconut Bay’s CocoLand Cares initiative. It’s a fun, light-hearted event that also gives families the chance to contribute to the local community.
Our guests will also enjoy twice-weekly themed dinners with live entertainment on the pool deck, including the ever-popular Caribbean Carnival, showcasing steel drum band, fire dancers and stilt walkers, along with Country & Western Night, where the band will have you singing along and line dancing to classic favourites.
With nine restaurants, seven bars and five pools, along with an endless schedule of activities, from kitesurfing to themed nightly events, it’s easy to see why Coconut Bay was crowned ‘Saint Lucia’s Leading Family Resort’ at the 2025 World Travel Awards.
