Hailing from Bristol, England, this couple is living proof that true love can bloom in even the most unexpected way. Kelly and Matthew first met in a bowling alley, where Matthew was Kelly’s boss. As it turns out, both were “bowled” over by the other’s charms, and they instantly became the best of friends. They eventually fell in love and dated for seven enchanted years.
On Christmas day, and after seven years together, Matthew decided to offer Kelly a gift that would change both their lives — a proposal signifying his wish to officially share his life with his true love. Desiring perfect nuptials, the diligent planners spent about a year working toward their dream wedding. They resolved to make or do something every month in preparation for the big day.
A Sun-Soaked Paradise with Something for Everyone
With their hearts set on a destination wedding, Kelly and Matthew pored over resort brochures from various tropical locations. Apart from finding the perfect setting for their wedding, they wanted to choose a place that would also appeal to their guests. Children were also a part of the wedding party, and so it was very important to find that special place that was just ideal for everyone.
After coming across Coconut Bay, Kelly and Matthew knew that they needed to look no further. An all-inclusive resort on the picturesque island of Saint Lucia, the couple was pleased to find that the resort was a popular choice for destination weddings. They were also happy to discover that they had so much from which to choose, at one resort. As with all our brides and grooms, Kelly and Matthew’s wedding coordinator was available to address all their concerns, and to ensure their day would be perfect and memorable. They were able to choose every detail of their ceremony, from food to flowers, to the song they wanted for their first dance.
The couple selected our Diamond Wedding Package which included the exchange of vows at the oceanfront under a tastefully decorated gazebo.
A decorated reception area and a two-tier wedding cake greeted guests who were treated to a three-course private dinner reception, standard bar, and a DJ for two hours. Once the festivities were over, the couple could enjoy private time with our romance turn-down service on their wedding night, complete with sparkling wine. We had them covered the next morning too, with an offer of continental breakfast for two. The Diamond Wedding Package includes other offers designed to complete the happy couple’s experience.
Kelly and Matthew chose pale pink and ivory for their wedding colors, which worked really well for the groomsmen who looked downright dapper in their silk pink ties. Of course, the guys sported flip-flops in a nod to the laidback, tropical locale. Always cognizant of her guests’ comfort, Kelly hand-made fans to keep wedding attendees cool during the ceremony.
Kelly maybe could’ve used a fan herself to control the flush of excitement when she and Matthew joined hands for the first time as man and wife. The couple’s favorite moment was turning toward their elated loved ones to walk back up the aisle as Mr. and Mrs. Sach.
