Coconut Bay’s exclusive water sports complex is located just minutes away from the international airport on the southern coast of St. Lucia and is perfect for all skill levels. The well-trained team can teach novice to advanced kiters and boarders to harness the strength of the Caribbean’s wind and water.
I have been traveling the world for kitesurfing for about 10 years now, including teaching this difficult sport to a wide range of people. It is challenging to keep a professional, adaptable, courteous, fun, exciting, productive environment that appeals to people of all skill levels. The guys at the kite center were among the best teachers I have ever come across. Luis was quite possibly the best I’ve seen in the world.
It was the first time for me in the Caribbean and honestly I had a great time during my stay at the Coconut Bay Resort with all the friends and the team, we were hosted like kings, super cool stuff and very comfortable atmosphere and good time around the hotel between the pools and the gym or the beach also during the dinners and the shows after.. Very looking forward to going back there.
The easy launch from the watersports facility is accessible to all skill levels, as is the riding inside the reef area. More adventuresome kiters can go out through the reef into the beautiful rolling Atlantic swell for some truly memorable riding right off the resort property.
We came last year and first, you must know we do 5 kitesurf trips each year, in different locations over the world (yes we are lucky). Well, the team at coconut bay is the best we ever met! Bruno, Luis and Pedro are just awesome guys with whom you will have a lot of fun. As a kite instructor myself, i can tell you they are very good professionals and will provide great teaching in safety. The fact that these 3 have been friends for a lot of years brings definitely something unique in this team.
… I soon found myself gearing up on the beach a mere 45 minutes after landing on the tarmac. All of my worries and stress drained away the moment I hit the water and instantly knew I’d found nirvana. Coconut Bay is one of the most idyllic, uncrowded and user-friendly kiting spots in the world. The 85-acre, all-inclusive resort and its friendly staff cater to all of your needs, allowing visitors more time to focus on kiting and whatever else you’re looking to do with your time.
Kiteboarding at Coconut Bay Resort was the best we’ve ever experienced, and I’d recommend Coconut Bay to anyone from a beginner seeking instruction to an expert wanting some truly varied riding.
Resort guests over eight years old receive a complimentary introductory kitesurfing “taster,” which includes flying a trainer kite on the beach and experiencing a guided joyride on the water. Guests over the age of 16 have the option of taking lessons with a seasoned pro.
Top of-the-line equipment and certified instructors at Coconut Bay’s Surf Shack will provide all the support needed for an awesome and memorable ride.
