History

Before being purchased in 2004 by Jamaican hotelier and businessman Gary “Butch” Hendrickson, the property stood empty for two years following the events of 9/11. After a multimillion-dollar renovation including: room refurbishment, redeveloped common areas, extensive landscaping and newly constructed water park including pools, slides and lazy river, the resort reopened in 2005 as Coconut Bay Beach Resort and Spa.

Two seemingly different worlds in one idyllic setting. An adult oasis is tucked onto one side of the palm-fringed resort while the other side boasts one of the liveliest family playgrounds in the Caribbean. 250-rooms, four dining options plus beach grill, six bars, four swimming pools, a full-service oceanfront spa,CocoLand Kidz Klub and the island’s largest water park. The resort caters to families, couples and honeymooners alike with the perfect location and endless activities.
