You know a wedding destination is really something when a couple travels 4,200 miles for it. Kara and Lee, our featured bride and groom, hail from High Wycombe, England. They made the trek across the pond for a storybook wedding on Eternity Beach in Saint Lucia on May 1, 2015.
Kara and Lee’s fairytale romance began when they met seven years ago. After several years of true love, the couple became engaged in Cambridge in 2011, and the wedding planning process began. Kara and Lee researched destinations for more than two years, searching for the most beautiful Caribbean location. Finally, they settled on Coconut Bay Beach Resort & Spa in Saint Lucia, and their dream wedding soon became a reality.
A Tropical Wedding in Paradise
Coconut Bay prides itself on weddings with a personal touch, as unique as the couples they unite. Kara and Lee were no exception — Kara walked down the aisle with a maroon-and-white brooch bouquet, handmade by the groom, that coordinated perfectly with Lee’s crimson tie. As for their wedding colors, the couple wanted bright, vibrant hues to complement their tropical theme. With brilliant tropical flowers and sky blue decorative ribbon, their colorful wishes were truly honored by their wedding coordinator, Onita.
In Their Own Words: “Perfection”
After exchanging romantic vows they wrote themselves, Kara and Lee took a moment to reflect on their everlasting love while looking out at the ocean, arm in arm. While an exotic destination wedding is anything but conventional, the couple still paid homage to a few nuptial traditions. If you look closely at the bride, you’ll see her “something new and blue” — a gorgeous Swarovski pendant.
Once the ceremony was over, Kara and Lee dove into their first experience as husband and wife – an incredible scuba diving excursion. They say that this adventure was hands down their favorite Saint Lucia experience (after the wedding, of course). The couple had glowing reviews for the Coconut Bay wedding package, calling the cake and food “perfection” and summing up the experience with this: “Best words cannot describe how incredible our wedding day was. Thank you for making it all possible and giving us the best memories to share for the rest of our lives.”
