This includes scholarships, tuition reimbursement, and aid for medical expenses or unforeseen hardships, all guided by our management team. Training and Career Development

All Coconut Bay personnel receive ongoing training in customer service, professionalism, and communication in addition to their specific areas of expertise. Our Cross Training Program ensures that employees receive continuous, firsthand training in various departments. In-house training and certification plans through institutions like UWI, NRDF, and AHLEI allow staff to advance their skills. Many of our leaders began as line staff, with 75% of managers, supervisors, and shift leaders having been promoted internally. We also support specialized training, such as HVAC courses for engineering staff, filling critical skill gaps on the island.

Scholarships and Educational Support

We support staff enrichment through interest-free loans and a Tuition Reimbursement Program for successful completion of courses. Coconut Bay also offers annual scholarships for staff children excelling in Common Entrance Exams to help meet the initial cost of Secondary School Education and distributes school supplies to staff families. To date, over EC$1.6 million in scholarships has been awarded. Additionally, in 2024 we introduced the Tertiary Level Scholarship for the child of a resort employee who has excelled in their CSEC (Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate) exams. This scholarship helps cover tuition for college and highlights our ongoing investment in the educational development of both our employees and their families.

Team Building and Employee Engagement

Coconut Bay promotes a collaborative environment through team-building activities, monthly sporting events, and training exercises that encourage teamwork across departments. Additionally, our annual Family Fun Day is a celebration for staff and their families, complete with school supplies distributions for children.

Recognition and Rewards

We celebrate our employees through recognition programs such as Employee of the Month, Manager of the Quarter, and our themed Annual Staff Awards party. Award winners receive bonuses, recognition on our Wall of Fame, and social media features. Staff are also rewarded for guest recognition and participation in cross-training programs.
