Here at Coconut Bay Beach Resort & Spa we are constantly improving our facilities, amenities — and your guest experience. It may surprise you to know that many of our refreshments are prioritized based on your feedback. While this list is always being actioned, some items need to be implemented when we won’t disrupt your getaway, that’s why we close every September. This year was no different and we’ve just reopened after completing a $6 million enhancement that touched on every aspect of what you experience during your stay. Something you may have already noticed is our new website design, with the site launching as we celebrated our October 4th reopening.
Peter John’s Lounge, your favorite adults-only evening entertainment spot after 9:00 p.m., has had a complete makeover. A new color palette and carpeting really open the space giving it a contemporary look and feel for your evening cocktails, live entertainment, Rum Tastings at the Sugar Cane Rum Bar, and the weekly Chocolate Extravaganza – our delectable adults-only dessert experience. There’s also a new granite countertop at the Piano Bar so you can get comfortable with drinks and a mic for karaoke and singalongs.
If you “feel the need for speed” you can show off your game on our four resurfaced basketball courts and four night-lit tennis courts, and then head over to the CocoLand Waterpark where the enclosed 400-foot Coconut Cannon and the 300-foot Coconut Coaster have been re-caulked and polished and are now “superfast” according to General Manager Zachary Frangos who personally put them to the test. Your float around the Lazy River will be more colorful too, it’s been resurfaced and repainted, and there are new railings on the overpass to stop and watch the fun. And at the CocoLand Kidz Klub the team was hands-on choosing a fun color palette the kids are loving.
Adding to the tranquil atmosphere at the oceanfront Sanctuary Spa new windows give you an even better view of the Maria Island Nature Reserve, and speaking of views La Luna, your favorite venue for private celebrations and romantic private dinners, now has a new roof to protect you from the elements while you enjoy our signature views. Chef has also updated our menus and we have added new menu covers as we have reintroduced menus for you in our six à la carte restaurants.
Your in-room experience is also being enhanced, with beautiful new fabrics for room décor and amenities including drapes, bed runners, pillow shams, and lumbar pillows to be in place by winter. All rooms have also undergone a deep steam clean, with new sofas planned in the adults-only Harmony Wing’s fourth floor rooms while the remaining sofas have all been reupholstered. We have also created and reintroduced in-room directories for your convenience.
Last but certainly not least, for our bridal parties, in addition to a new wedding office, there are new restrooms at the Wedding Center, and stay tuned for more exciting news with the coming addition of a stunning Bridal Suite.
We continue to make Coconut Bay better each year with your comfort in mind and we trust you will enjoy all of these improvements. Our 85 acres and one mile of beach has endless opportunities for fun in the sun and we promise you’ll keep on loving us as we welcome you back to our peace of paradise.
