b'CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY: OUR COMMUNITYCommunity Educational Partnerships and Career Guidance ProgramIn an effort to create talent pools and generate interest in careers in tourism, over the years Coconut Bay has established partnerships with secondary schools and tertiary learning institutions including Monroe College, the National Skills Devel-opment Center (NSDC) and Sir Arthur Lewis Community College (SALCC.) These partnerships have allowed us to identify and train students interested in hospitality internships and provided access for local residents seeking entry-level positions.Upon completion of our three-month internship program many students are offered full or part-time positions across various departments. Trainees are able to gain directexposure to the right skills required with hands-on training about the attitude and aptitude required to excel in our industry. Our Career Guidance team engages the community directly on an annualbasis with personal visits in area secondary schools to provide insight on careeropportunities within the hospitality industry and have assisted with resume writingand job interview preparation. Thus far our team has visited with students fromPiaye Secondary, Beanfield Comprehensive and Anse Ger Secondary School. Coconut Bay also provides training and employment opportunities to individuals outside of learning institutions who have a desire to gain skills and practical experience to strengthen their employment prospects. Each year Coconut Bay hosts Job Fairs for community residents to raise awareness about available positions.
