Explore St. Lucia from the eyes of locals on our half-day Green Giant Jeep tour. The open-air adventure begins with a morning departure from Coconut Bay Beach Resort & Spa and continues with a ride through the mountains and along the coast of beautiful St. Lucia.
As you make your way to the first stop of your tour, a local Lucian will serve as your guide and tell you about the island’s history, economy, culture and more. Watch early-morning fishermen bring in their catch, pick low-hanging mangos off the trees as you pass and breathe in the fresh Caribbean air – it’s going to be a day you’ll always remember.
What to Expect
This half-day tour includes four stops with guides and activities at each must-see St. Lucia sight. Your Green Giant Jeep tour guide will have plenty of water and beer for you to enjoy throughout the day, but pack snacks – or try some local fare – if you need something to hold you over until you’re back for lunch at the all-inclusive Coconut Bay.
This costal French-English colonial town, perched on an inlet about an hour’s drive from Coconut Bay, is your first stop. There is nothing commercial or touristy about this Lucian city. Here you will get to experience how the natives live. Walk along the water and stop in one of the local bars or sit on the beach and admire boats coming in and out just 60 feet away, where the shallow seaboard plummets to 500 feet of ocean.
Your second stop will be at St. Lucia’s botanical gardens. Your knowledgeable guide will lead you through a tropical paradise where you can spot flamboyant island birds, striking plant life and beautiful butterflies. Be sure to pick your guide’s brain about St. Lucia’s lush ecosystem and rich culture.
After exploring the Botanical Gardens, the Green Giant Jeep will take five at a freshwater waterfall where you are free to swim, take photos or just listen to the relaxing sound of rushing, crashing water.
Your final stop is an volcano that you can actually go inside of! After getting up close and personal with bubbling mud and smoking sulfur, you will have several choices of activities – enjoy a natural mud bath, rinse off in a mineral spring or take in your surroundings on the viewing platform.
On your way back to Coconut Bay, your will get a quick tour of Laborie and Choiseul from the comfort of the Green Giant Jeep. The return journey also includes a stop at Moule a Chique for a breathtaking view of the Pitons and south St. Lucia.
